The Directorate of Social Security Audit has started its operation from 23-12-2019, which is one of the seventeen (17) audit directorates under the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh. This audit directorate is entrusted to conduct audits of all Budgetary Central Government and Statutory Public Authorities including all projects, programs and schemes belonging to seven ministries, namely Ministry of Disaster Management & Relief, Ministry of Social Welfare, Ministry of Youth & Sports, Ministry of Women & Children Affairs, Ministry of Labor & Employment, Ministry of Food and Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. The objective of this audit directorate is to conduct effective audit of all the offices under the aforementioned ministries in order to ensure value for public money and to provide reliable and objective information to the stakeholders with a view to establishing transparency and accountability in their activities. We are responsible for conducting audit on behalf of the CAG of Bangladesh in our respective jurisdictions. Alongside the traditional approach to carry out financial, compliance or regularity audits, we are conducting ISSAI-based performance audits to evaluate the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the management of public resources, thereby contributing to governance.
